Osage Nation Environmental Solutions (ONES) is located in Pawhuska, which is one of the first towns established in Osage County, Oklahoma. Osage County was established in 1907 on the Osage Nation Reservation and is the state’s largest county by area.
The town of Pawhuska was originally established in 1872. During those first three years, the town would welcome traders who built stores. Pawhuska would also introduce its first newspaper, the Indian Herald. The town grew in population during Osage Nation’s oil boom in the early 20th century, which is when several railroads brought in lines. Today, Pawhuska is a Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone).
